Arrived in Barcelona on Saturday after a 5-hour train trip. We opted for a taxi to our apartment rather than walk. Often the subway is the best method but we hadn’t used the subway here and felt a little intimated. We’ll use that later without our big backpacks…
We enjoyed a long walk around the city. And then… my phone was stolen right out of my hands. I was using the gps to get back to our hotel and some guy simply grabbed it out of my hands and took off running. Let me tell you when your phone is stolen life is hard! It took me over a month to get my phone number released back to me so I rented a phone for two months while waiting for my phone number to be deemed “clean” of terrorist activity.
Needless to say the remaining days in Barcelona were less than great. My poor husband had to give up his phone for me to use for photos. He kept reminding me to be careful with it, put it away when not using it, etc…
Barcelona is still beautiful and colorful, but watch out for phone thieves. This was not a crowded street. We were the only ones in that block…

So Barcelona
