3 Days in Barcelona (June 30-July 2, 2024)

Day 3:

We had a 9 am tour of La Pedrera Casa Mila scheduled and we couldn’t wait. Our hotel is a block away so we pass this beautiful building daily. Let’s see what’s inside!

La Pedrera Casa Mila model
Butterfly inspired doors
The first car park in Barcelona was in this building thru this butterfly door
Inside the lobby, a natural skylight. I don’t know what happens when it rains…
All the door frames in the apartment were this style
The attic – amazing!
Within the attic was a museum of sorts showing items that Gaudi used for shape inspiration. He loved nature and its natural lines which he used in his designs
The rooftop was filled with shapes and colors so beautiful
Tracie
So many shapes
One parting shot inside the lobby

Gaudi was an amazing architect with visions so pleasing to the eye probably because his designs simulated nature. An outstanding human!

Next was breakfast and then souvenir shopping in the La Rambla area that we had not spent much time in this visit.

My substantial breakfast sandwich

We enjoyed our last afternoon, keeping an eye on the clock as we had a 5 pm flamenco dance show to attend.

The sidewalks in the LaRambla area looked like this. It was completely flat but gave the impression of curves and dips. I had to look ahead and not pay attention to the design!
Some narrow streets
A fun market

Next stop hotel to refresh, and back outside to the flamenco show at city hall. Neither of us had been to a show so this was going to be fun!

One of the guitar players
The two dancers flipping shawls all over. So fun to watch
The graceful dancer
The men

That was fun!

Another beautiful building

Now for dinner. We went back to our first night restaurant because steak and mushrooms sounded delicious, along with potatoes bravas with sauce on the side.

Time to say good night. We have a very early wake up as our first flight is at 6:10 am! It has been fun in Barcelona!
