Day 1:

We took the train from Toledo to Barcelona via Madrid and arrived about 4 hours later. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and we walked from the train station to our hotel, 1.5 miles.

Our hotel is on a fancy street which I didn’t realize. We have Michael Kors around the corner and Jimmy Choo across the street. Yep, a little out of my price range!

We forgot to book tickets to see the famous La Sagrada Familia and both Tracie and I were frantically searching for tickets on different platforms. We both came up with 1 ticket remaining. I told Tracie to get it since I’ll be back in October with Rick and we will both go then.

She enjoyed the visit and I put all my stuff away in the hotel room and waited for her so we could find dinner. You do the best you can!

We have a great room to sleep in. Big windows that open, air conditioning if we need it (and we do) and a large bathroom down the hall from the beds.

Tomorrow the forecast calls for rain so we’ll see how it goes. Neither of us want to wear our rain ponchos!!
