Argagnon to Navarrenx

Mileage: 15.42 miles. elevation gain: 1,539 feet

Our 6:30 breakfast was pretty basic. Bread and coffee/tea with jam and butter of course. It’s enough to get us on the trail and hope we find something open!

The trail was fairly flat for the first 5 miles which was good. The weather was perfect, cloud cover and close to 70.

An old tower

And then the hills arrived. With over 1500 feet of climbing, there were hills! They weren’t terrible however and magically there were several spots to stop with toilettes. That’s always a bonus…

Hills and hills
Tiny Forest trail
Chapel
Chateau
My omelette sandwich
The cafe waiter (possibly owner)
Cowabunga
The garage matched the house but with added ivy
The Pyranees are getting closer!
The Gite Girafe
These waters had a frozen bit of syrup in them. I ate mine but Tracie let hers melt the water turned reddish
And then there was salted caramel ice cream. Absolutely delicious!
A mural of pilgrims from an exhibition last year
Pouring coffee into my bowl!

And so our stay in Navarrenx comes to an end. Our room was really nice and the hosts, a couple who took 9 years to renovate the building, quit their jobs and now run the Gite. They were very happy and fun and excellent cooks.

It rained from dinner throughout the night. We shall see what the day brings!
