We had an easy day yesterday on purpose. Instead of a rest day we walked 5 miles to a Gite that was just past the town of Argagnon. It was a huge property with cute little bedrooms on wheels in a forested area. Our room was inside the main house with bunk beds, a shower and sink, but we all had to share one toilet. That was a little odd but it worked.
First I must report on the breakfast feast we were provided before we left Arzacq! it was amazing! There was French toast, pound cake, raisin cake, yogurt, granola, apples, orange juice, dried figs and coffee/tea. Wow!

After our full breakfast, we stayed almost an hour and chatted with Aicha as if she was an old friend. Google Translate is wonderful when the language barrier interferes with a conversation.

We didn’t leave Arzacq until close to 10 because we knew it was such a short distance, but we still arrived so early. There was nothing open in the town, so we sat at the picnic table in front of the closed boulangerie wishing we could buy a coffee and a cola zero.

The trail to Argagnon was fairly easy. Lots of downhill and flat.

We were the first to arrive and were greeted by two friendly dogs which brought the Gite owner out.

Our room was just inside the front door and was a bunk room for 4 but it was all ours. Yay!

Just after we arrived, a couple from Texas came in. We ended up chatting with them for hours before and after dinner. Jim and Winnie from Plano Texas. She is originally from Taiwan and was a chatty little thing. We did exchange emails so plan to hear from them again.

Our meal was simple but good. The main dish was haricots with peas and ham chunks. It was a huge bowl and every last bean was consumed.

We asked for breakfast at 6:30 because tomorrow is 15+ miles. Getting an early start will help!
We had no WiFi at this gite but that gave us more time for visiting. Our stay was pleasant and we are looking forward to our 15 mile day tomorrow!! Maybe😉
