We had a wonderful sleep in Barcelona. We both closed our eyes and woke up refreshed. I’m sure we have one more day of jet lag waiting for us… but I’ve heard that if you go barefoot for a short time on the ground, the jet lag is less. We’ll find some grass along the way today and see if that helps. I’ll report back!

Grounding takes longer than we had, but the idea is planted and it will be tried again!
We walked from the hotel to Barcelona Sants train station. It was a beautiful warm morning and an easy 1.5 miles to get our day going.
The train was waiting for us which was a treat. Since it’s going all the way to Paris (we only had 4 stops and then switched trains), the lines were long but we had reserved seats so no problem. The same was true of our next train.

Trains are the best. They are generally clean and on time but the bus system is more challenging. We got off the train in Agen and understood the bus station was just outside the station. The buses aren’t marked well for a tourist but many drivers are kind and helpful. We eventually found our bus but nearly missed it. It’s a very good thing there were 50+ travelers waiting in line to get on that bus. It gave us time to walk quickly to the very first bus only to be told it was back where we had just come from – the very last bus. Oh well we made it and will end our day of travel in 58 minutes. Can’t wait!

We arrived in Lectoure, found our hotel which is one of those doors with an address that you would miss if you weren’t looking for it. In general most of these rooms are in apartment buildings and a small number are rented to travelers. It’s usually less expensive and often comes with a kitchen as does ours. The outside is rather plain but our room is nice and well… roomy. Small kitchen, bathroom and a bonus room up some narrow winding stairs.

First up was dinner. We tried two restaurants and since we did not have reservations there was no room for us. A third place asked if we reserved and when we said no, he paused but then got out two menus and seated us. Almost no one was on the patio when we arrived but by the time we finished, the place was full. The setting was beautiful and the food a mix. Our salad which was a chicken Caesar, was delicious. We each ordered a ground steak burger which came with fries and no bun. We now know that if you order medium… it will be quite red. Not my cup of tea so medium well it shall be going forward!

All in all a very good day. Two trains and a bus, grounding in the park and a new town to explore. Goodnight / Bonsoir!
