I’ve been enjoying Nashville getting reacquainted with my oldest grandkids. They of course had school every day and Brian worked, so I would wander off for a walk often through Shelby Bottoms Park. I loved all the greenery but not so much the cicadas! They kept jumping onto me every now and then, uninvited…

Mother’s Day was special as I rarely spend it with Brian. We enjoyed brunch at Butcher & Bee. A delicious assortment of plates included a beautiful and delicious avocado and crunchy rice plate. So good!

Every day after my walk I would stop at Barista Parlor for a beverage. My favorite way to end a walk of any length.

I loved my time spent with the teenagers. Uma sang in her School of Rock concert, we had a height comparison between dad and son and there were lots of hugs…

We said goodbye to them after the week was over and headed for Chattanooga for Brian’s Half Ironman on Sunday.
A half-Ironman impresses the heck out of me! Brian trains most of the year while holding down a more than full-time job. He finished this race in just seconds over 5 hours. That is a 1.4 mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1 mile run. Whew! My morning consisted of walking to the bakery for a coffee and croissant, searching for Brian’s swim finish (missed him), the bike and run and taking photos. It was exhausting!

All in all it was a great 10-day visit. I hope to do it again!
