Yosemite Day 2

Boy was it cold last night! And rainy and wet! We were mostly dry thanks to the added tarp cover; however there were several tiny holes that allowed rain water to drip through onto Ricks feet. He was a good sport about it and we added trash bags to deflect the water. Success!

Thank goodness for duck tape!

Our mission for the day was to hike to Mirror Lake. It turned out to be a 4-mile round trip. The elevation stayed fairly level along the trail.

Notice the frozen trees to the left of the mountains

The lake wasn’t very deep but there were some nice reflections. The views were amazing!

When we finished the hike, we decided to grill our dinner instead of going out. Rick had seen steaks at the market the previous day and since we brought food with us, we wanted to use what we already had. Stef grabbed some potato chips so we could have steak and “potatoes”:) It was an excellent idea!

It was a great day, with warm sunshine in the middle of the day returning to chilly even before we were back at camp. The weather is warming… but not very quickly! At least the rain has stopped!
