We had an amazing 3 day trip planned for Yosemite National Park this week. Our daughter Stef brought her 2 kids, our grandkids… We had reservations at Housekeeping Camp for 3 nights, but snow was forecast and it was still up for discussion if we would wait for the snow to finish, or brave it. We made a decision to go as planned on Sunday despite the forecasted snow.

Sunday drive had us in the snow at 6,000 feet elevation. the roads weren’t too slippery mainly because the outside temp didn’t go below 33.
Once in the Yosemite Valley we meandered along the road trying to see the big mountains and waterfalls, despite the low clouds and rain. We knew that the next day would have better weather. That proved to be true.

We checked into Housekeeping Camp. Each unit is comprised of 3 cement walls and a tarped wall, similar to shower curtains. We had the unfortunate luck to have our patio with lots of pin holes so with the rain, it was quite wet!

All in all it was a bit chilly but we made it through the night! More to come as the following day had the sun out for a while and a gorgeous hike!
