After leaving our Big Lagoon campsite, we headed south on Hwy 101 towards the Bay Area. Coffee and gas found in McKinleyville and we’re set for a while.

Further south we took the Avenue of the Giants scenic route to scout for campgrounds worth staying at. We found a couple that we will check out in 2021. All in all it was a beautiful drive through the Giants.

We had to take a short walk on the highway for photos and to investigate a downed tree. Rick tried to put his arms across the base of the tree and it was over two fully extended arm reaches. Amazing!

3 hours later we pull into Benicia and greet the kids and grandkids.

Since COVID numbers are edging out of control, we will enjoy our time together and make some fun plans for the new year.
