Our Alternate Holiday – Day 4

It was so nice not to pack and unpack today.

Today’s hike was with Stef and Lucy. Alden went with his dad to rock climb. We will catch up to them later.

We selected the Ryan Mountain hike. A mere 1.5 miles uphill to the top! Up up up we went for an hour+. The view from the top was almost 360.

Once at the top we enjoyed our views for a short while before turning around.

Now for the hike down. Lucy had fun with the adults by scampering ahead to find a spot she could hide and jump out to scare us. She was a happy girl!

The rock formations are so interesting. At some point in time the entire Joshua Tree area lay under water for 250 million years. Wow! No wonder these rock are so cool.

After we finished, we went in search of the climbers, Nathan, Alex and Alden. It’s a big park and we knew basically what area to search in, but it did take some effort. In the meantime we saw more of the park.

This little guy posed for me. We saw a fair number of the cute lizards throughout the day.

We said goodbye to Stef and family. Hopefully we’ll see them in June as planned.

Next stop is Death Valley and then home. Too many closures and changes to be away from home. We will stock our shelves and hope to make it safely through the next couple of months.
