Leaving Sutri I took the highway for a short while rather than the trail which went up. It was too early to be going up…

Sometimes it’s not easy to figure out which way to go!

This is where I turned around and headed for the flat highway.

Monte Gelato Falls

I walked the last 4 miles and enjoyed the new scenery including longhorns, beautiful green trees, the sounds of race cars on a nearby track and that final steep hill into town.
I finally made it to Campagna di Roma and met Suzanne in our cozy private cottage. It was small, had bunk beds but it was ours for the night.
Suzanne had quite the day which I should let her tell that story or dictate it to me…
We walked into the main part of the small old section to find a drink and then dinner. In the meantime I was lucky enough to receive a request from my daughter Stefanie to video chat. That was a fun way to end our evening and begin her day (with the 9-hour time difference).
Then at dinner we saw Susan and Judith who were on their way out to look around town, but sat with us and chatted for a few minutes until our food arrived. They are truly so sweet, we were glad to have made their acquaintance.
Our meal tonight. I had lemon pasta which was delicious and Suzanne had an omelette with avocado. She just wanted something plain. Then we strolled back to our bungalow and posed in front of the fish fountain.
That is a wrap for the day!
