Day 3 of 5 already done! How can an environment so relaxing also feel so busy?! I understand why they suggest no electronics while here because all we seem to have time for is breakfast, lunch and dinner, massage, three classes, and whatever else comes along! Such a stressful schedule!
Its actually been anything but stressful. I spent so much time today stretching, learning how to breathe properly, yoga movements, eating healthy food and relaxing in my room the day was gone before I knew it! We did actually take a walk outside in the snow and cold. Melanie offered to give us a short tour of the area above the Monastere, so we took her up on it.
We stepped inside the Notre Dame church and a boulangerie for a cappuccino. It was a bit slippery on the sidewalks because of the fresh snowfall today, but we were careful and made it safely back inside the Monastere. We are excited to actually visit the city once our time is up at this lovely retreat we are so enjoying!
Tracie managed to get up for the 7 am class today. I opted to stay put. That is a role reversal if you know both of us. She loved the class and I loved a few extra minutes under the covers.
Today I met with a specialist on movement, breathing and posture. I learned two types of breathing. 1) cardiac coherence and 2) pranayama. You can find demonstrations on youtube, which I’ll do when I get home. Both sound like worthwhile activities to calm the heart and mind. Everyone can use a bit of that!
There were other exercises primarily for stretching, which I know I need. Now will I do it when I return home? Of course I will…
Tracie had her Reflexology treatment and enjoyed that experience.
Life is good. That is all for tonight!
